Our review
Perplexity works like a search engine that answers in full sentences and shows the sources it used. That citation-first design makes it more useful than a plain chatbot for market research, competitor checks and quick fact-finding, because you can click through and confirm each claim. A free tier covers everyday searches, while the paid Pro plan adds more advanced searches and model choices. The main caution is that a cited source is not automatically a reliable source: check that the linked pages actually say what the summary claims, especially for numbers, prices and legal or medical topics.
